The BMW C 400 X came in 2017, the more tourist-oriented C 400 GT followed in 2018. For the 2021 model year, BMW is now giving both scooter models a facelift.

Torque-optimized single cylinder

The conversion to the mandatory Euro 5 standard was right at the top of the specification sheet. In order to get the single cylinder over this hurdle, it was converted to control via e-gas, equipped with a new engine management system and an optimized centrifugal clutch with stronger springs. There were also changes to the exhaust gas cleaning system and to the cylinder head. The power of the 350 cm³ single cylinder remains unchanged at 34 hp, which is available at 7,500 tours. The maximum torque remains unchanged at 35 Nm, but is now reached 250 revs earlier at 5,750 rpm.

The electronic throttle should also give the scooters a smoother and more sensitive throttle response and increased idling stability. The optimized stability program ASC should react more sensitively and does not have to be recalibrated after a tire change.

Other new features of the 139 km / h scooter include new brake calipers on the double disc brake system on the front wheel and optimized lighting for the storage compartment under the seat. The storage compartment in the cladding now has a USB charging socket.

The design of the 400 series scooter remains unchanged, but is wrapped in new colors and new styles. The basic color of the BMW C 400 X is Black Storm metallic and costs from 6,950 euros. For a surcharge of 50 euros it is painted in granite gray metallic. A surcharge of 200 euros is required for the Sport style, which then brings the color combination Black storm metallic / Racing blue metallic matt to the scooter.

Similar game with the C 400 GT: the basic color is alpine white, the basic price is 7,950 euros. Callisto gray metallic costs 50 euros extra.
