Driving report Continental ClassicAttack
First radial tire for youngtimers

The Continental ClassicAttack is the first radial tire for youngtimers. MOTORRAD tried it out on a Honda CB 900 F Bol d’Or in direct comparison with the TKV 11/12 bias tire.

October 24, 2013

The result is completely convincing: with Continental’s ClassicAttack, the Honda drives more precisely and clearly more manageable, more cheeky. It takes on tighter radii on the racetrack and allows course corrections at any time. On the country road, the excellent grip is pleasing in all conditions – even in wet conditions and sections with slippery bitumen!

The high grip of the freshly installed rubbers, which is thanks to the production process without release agents, is also impressive. This enables entry without the risk of slipping. On the motorway, the new pairing remains unshakably stable up to speedometer reading 220. Even impulses deliberately initiated via the handlebars do not cause the vehicle to rock. Compared to diagonal tires, the comfort is less, the spring elements have to work harder and fish out. Apparently, the self-damping of the zero-degree steel belted tires is lower despite the high 90’s cross-section. They rumble over rough joints, but without causing any unrest in the chassis: The Honda ran on the Contis even with a pillion passenger, without commuting.
