A speed of 200 km / h and a range of up to 200 kilometers – the Emflux One is a new electric motorcycle from India. It has now been presented at the Auto Expo in Delhi.

A.Even if the company name sounds like “Back to the future”, the Emflux One is much more tangible than the flux compensator from the hit movie. Behind Emflux is an Indian start-up that has now presented a genuine electric sports motorcycle at the Auto Expo in Delhi.

Visually, the Emflux One looks like a real sport bike: tubular frame, tubular arm swing arm, full fairing (optionally made of carbon) and a design that looks like a mixture of the Yamaha R1 and Ducati Panigale V4. The Emflux One should weigh just 169 kilograms. The wheelbase is 1,395 mm at the 600 level. The 17-inch gear train, with a 120/70 tire at the front and a 180/55 at the rear, also corresponds to the class standard. Cast rims are standard, forged wheels are available at an additional cost. The Brembo stoppers use four-piston radial pliers at the front, which bite into 300 mm discs. A 220 disc was installed at the rear, ABS is on board. When braking, energy is recovered.

For the suspension and damping work on both axles, the Indians rely on Swedish components. The 43 mm Ohlins upside-down fork is just as fully adjustable as the rear mono shock absorber.

Up to 200 kilometers range

Let’s get to the drive: The liquid-cooled electric motor of the Emflux One has a peak output of 60 kW and 84 Nm, but is limited to 53 kW continuous output and 75 Nm. There is no manual gearbox, the rear wheel is controlled via a single gearbox and a chain as final drive. With this, the Emflux One should spurt to 100 km / h in 3.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 200 km / h.

One battery charge should carry the Emflux One up to 200 kilometers.

The lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 9.7 kWh should enable ranges of 150 to 200 kilometers. The charging time (80%) should be between 3 hours and almost 40 minutes, depending on the charging current.

In addition to smartphone integration via Bluetooth via the seven-inch central display in the cockpit, the Emflux One also offers a parking assistant that moves the bike forwards or backwards at walking pace.

The Emflux One will initially be launched in India at prices starting at around $ 9,350 in the basic version. Later markets in Europe, Asia, Australia, Africa and the USA will also be supplied. 199 copies are reserved for the Indian market, with another 300 to be sold worldwide. The motorcycle will be launched gradually by the end of 2020.
