Electric motorcycle manufacturer Energica works with the start-up Sealence. Together they want to develop electrically powered jet engines for boats.

The electric motorcycle supplier already had Energica and the Italian supplier Dell’Orto a partnership agreed to jointly develop electric drives for motorcycles. Now go Energica another cooperation.

Sealence

Energica’s new cooperation partner is the start-up Sealence. The Italians have already drawn attention to themselves with an electrically powered jet engine for boats. The boat engine is to be further developed together with the motorcycle manufacturer. Sealence expects even more effective and powerful engines from this. In addition, both partners expect economies of scale through the use of the same drive components. These components should also be made available to third parties.

“We are very proud of this new all-Italian collaboration that will bring us to the marine market”, said Livia Cevolini, CEO of Energica.

Conclusion

Components from electric drive trains can easily be adapted to other operating conditions. Electric motorcycle manufacturer Energica tries to position itself as broadly as possible with its know-how.
