Garelli Ciclone E4

With the E4 variant, Garelli is providing the already well-known Ciclone electric scooter with a more powerful version for the 125cc class.

D.he older readers will still remember the Italian brand Garelli. Founded in 1919, the Italians were particularly strong in the 50s and 125s. In the 1980s Garelli was even multiple 125cc World Champion with pilots Angel Nieto, Luca Cadalora and Fausta Gresini. In 2012 the brand was dissolved after various changes of ownership and revived in 2018 by two entrepreneurs. Clear goal: focus on electromobility. One of the first new models was the Ciclone, which competes in the 50s class with a 2kW wheel hub motor from Bosch. Depending on the version, a top speed of 25 or 45 km / h is activated. The range should be up to 120 kilometers.

Up to 70 km / h or 110 km

Garelli is now adding the Ciclone E4, which, with its 4 kW and 160 Nm wheel hub motor, falls into the 125 class. The distinctive tubular aluminum frame, the 13-inch wheels as well as the USD fork and the rear central spring strut as well as the 220 brake system were adopted by the E4 from the 50s. The E4 has three performance modes that release a top speed of 35, 45 or 70 km / h. The ranges are similarly 110, 100 and 70 kilometers. The removable lithium-ion battery, measuring 35 Ah and weighing 13 kilograms, should be charged in 6 to 8 hours at a conventional socket. The charging pause should be able to be pushed to 45 minutes via fast charging.

The Ciclone E4, which weighs 68 kilograms without a battery, is approved for two people and can carry a maximum of 150 kilograms. The Garelli Ciclone E4 is available in the versions Urban, Soul and Cross. The main differentiating factor is the color. The Cross variant also rolls on coarse tires. While the 50 version costs around 3,500 euros, the E4 version starts at around 4,500 euros.

Conclusion

The Garelli Ciclone is an extremely stylishly made electric two-wheeler – as a 50 and a 125 cc. And a range of up to 70 kilometers in power mode is sufficient for some express city tours.
