The competition on the hotly contested Italian scooter market sometimes leads to a verbal exchange of blows. “No power can stop our XMax 300”, Yamaha tweeted there last year. Meant was the fiercest competitor, the Honda Forza 300, whose name translates “Power” means. “The force is with us”, Honda Italy promptly posted when the Forza was ahead in registrations at the end of 2020 – with a whopping 3,733 units.

Displacement increase from 279 to 330 cm³

So that the lead is maintained and – so the hope – also spreads to other markets, such as the German one, Honda is now speaking a power word and is upgrading its mid-range flagship optically with restyling and, above all, technically: the displacement increases from 279 330 cubic meters, the single cylinder also has more valve lift, more throttle valve diameter and larger intake valves. Compared to its predecessor, the new Honda Forza 350 increases power and torque by 17 percent. According to Honda, consumption is limited to a frugal 3.3 liters.

Since the sporty touring scooter weighs 184 kilos with a full tank due to its generous dimensions, more power comes in handy. With a top speed of 137 km / h and a good amount of torque, there are enough reserves to overtake on federal highways, while the new Honda Forza 350 swims confidently in traffic on the autobahn.

Can be steered relaxed by sweeping

Admittedly, there are more space-saving scooters in narrow city centers, but it does its job extremely well on winding country roads, always remains stable and can be steered very relaxed even through tight bends. The high-grip Pirelli Diablo scooter tires, the traction control and the easy-to-dose brakes with two-channel ABS ensure a lot of safety; in the event of an emergency stop, the hazard warning lights switch on automatically. The driver sits very comfortably and is optimally protected from wind and weather, especially since the disc, which can be adjusted at the push of a button on the handlebars, now moves up and down a smooth 18 centimeters, four more than before.

In Germany, the new Honda Forza 350 is only available in the version with a 45-liter topcase, which is ins “Smart key”-The system is integrated: When the scooter is approached, the vehicle and top case are automatically unlocked via transponder, locked when removed, the key can remain in the jacket pocket. Incidentally, the Forza is built in Europe, in Atessa east of Rome.
