The 100th birthday is a top priority, so the Americans are launching a completely new one Indian Chief series consists of three models. The new Indian Chief Dark Horse, Indian Chief Bobber Dark Horse and Indian Super Chief Limited are all based on a tubular steel frame and powered by Thunderstroke V-Twin engines. The differentiation in style takes place via add-on parts and color design.
Three models – one technology kit
But let’s start with the similarities first. The classic tubular steel frame with its sloping line looks like a rigid frame. For this purpose, the rear spring struts, which can be adjusted in the preload, have been tilted forward extremely sharply and thus lengthen the frame tubes. The wheelbase is 1,626 mm, the seat height is just 662 mm and the ready-to-drive weight is 304 kilograms. The classic 46 mm telescopic fork comes with 132 millimeters of travel. The teardrop-shaped tank holds 15.1 liters of fuel, the indicators with integrated brake / taillights and the reflector are flanged to the short rear fenders. Like the front round headlights with daytime running lights, all lights use LED technology. Other features include keyless ignition, Pirelli Night Dragon tires, cruise control and the three driving modes Sport, Standard and Tour.

The Chief Bobber Dark Horse is available in the colors Black Smoke, Titanium Smoke and Sagebrush Smoke.
The cruiser

The Indian Chief Dark Horse features pared-down, mechanical styling that is highlighted by a drag bar handlebar, 19-inch cast wheel up front, center-mounted footpegs, a sleek headlamp mount, and a solo bobber seat. The Chief Dark Horse is available in the colors Black Smoke, Alumina Jade Smoke and Stealth Gray.
The tourer

The Super Chief Limited gives the tourer and brings, among other things, black leather saddlebags, a touring seat with pillion cushion, running boards and a traditional cruiser handlebar as well as a windshield with quick release, a large, paneled headlight, fork covers and a fully chrome-plated exhaust. The Super Chief Limited also has 16-inch wire-spoke wheels. It is available in the colors Black Metallic, Blue Slate Metallic and Maroon Metallic.
Prices from around 18,000 euros
With over 70 accessories, each version can be further customized. The prices for the Indian Chief Dark Horse start from 17,990 euros. The Chief Bobber Dark Horse costs 2,000 euros more and starts at 19,990 euros. And finally, the Super Chief Limited is available from 22,490 euros. All models can be ordered immediately.
Conclusion
Indian is celebrating itself with a new line of Chiefs. All three models come from a kit, but serve different tastes and are aimed directly at customers of the large American competitor.
