KTM is replacing the 790 Duke with the new 890 Duke. It lags a little behind its big sister 890 Duke R – but only a little.

So far the KTM 890 Duke is only available in a 121 hp and 99 Nm strong R version. In addition, the new, large two-cylinder can also be used in the 890 Adventure models with 105 PS and 100 Nm.

890 with A2 version as a 790 replacement

The Mattighofener continue to expand the 890 family. As already emerged from the type approval documents of the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), two new versions are coming. One of the new variants is the KTM 890 Duke without an additional R. According to Euro 5, it delivers 115 hp at 9,000 tours and brings a maximum torque of 92 Nm at 8,000 rpm to the start. A 95 hp version of the 890 Duke (again as an L version) has not yet been officially confirmed, but is also listed at the KBA, which will then also be available for A2 driver’s license holders in a power level reduced to 48 hp.

The equipment of the new KTM 890 Duke includes a configurable TFT display in the cockpit as well as an updated electronics package with six-axis sensor and the four driving modes Rain, Street, Sport and Track. The traction control can be adjusted in nine stages. Also on board is launch control and cornering ABS that works with a 300 double disc brake system on the front wheel. A quickshifter is only optional on board. The dry KTM 890 Duke, which weighs only 169 kilograms, relies on WP APEX spring elements at the front and rear. The adjustable US $ 43 fork has 140 millimeters of travel, and the adjustable central spring strut 150 millimeters. The 17-inch rims for tubeless tires are fitted with Continental ContiRoad tires in the dimensions 120/70 and 180/55. The lighting is based entirely on LED technology. The driver sits at a height of 820 millimeters.

The new KTM 890 Duke is available in both performance versions at prices from 10,895 euros. This makes them around 1,100 euros cheaper than the R model. The available color combinations: black and black / orange.

Conclusion

In the Duke family, KTM is replacing the 790s with new versions of the 890s, which then also meet the Euro 5 standard. In total, there is a little more performance, but also an A2 variant again.
