Moto Guzzi V7 II customizing in the driving report
Each part is unique
Fans of the Moto Guzzi brand are individualists who want individual motorcycles. In order to combine this with the targeted vehicle sales, Moto Guzzi offers an extensive range of accessories with which every Moto Guzzi V7 II can be transformed into a unique piece.
I.Individualists are people who apply different standards than the so-called mainstream for their decisions of whatever kind. Of course, this also applies to the choice of motorized two-wheelers. For a long time, owning a Harley-Davidson was considered an exclusive pleasure as well as proof of the highest level of mental independence and the greatest possible distance from the generally accepted ideas about how a motorcycle should look or function.

“Discover the world of accessories”
Seen globally, there appears to be a sufficiently large mass of Moto Guzzi V7s to put on four different lines to further individualize the bestseller. “Discover the world of accessories” was a phrase that was often repeated during the presentation of the four pimped models in the venerable factory halls of Mandello del Lario. And the creation of this world of accessories could prove to be a classic win-win situation: The margin of the consistently high-quality, but by no means cheap, mudguards, side covers, handlebars, luggage racks, leather bags and a number of small parts remains with the manufacturer, and the Guzzi keeps there all accessories have an ABE, in any case their ABE and thus their approval. The last point in particular is often swept under the carpet by customizers. A few examples from the Dapper price list: The polished aluminum side covers cost 525 euros, the likewise polished aluminum fenders 505 euros, the chrome-plated tank 878 euros. The elaborately manufactured handlebar end mirrors are available in a set for 402 euros. The most expensive item of all is the high-level Arrows complete system, which is in the book for 1372 euros and gives the V2 a wonderfully bassy yet subtle sound. The friendly Guzzi dealer has the full list.
There is something like a philosophy behind each of the four models. While the Dapper, with its chrome-plated tank and stub handlebars, is supposed to be reminiscent of the cafe racers from the 1960s, the completely black Dark Rider, according to the brochure, would rather appeal to the cool guys. Or those who are looking for a basis for the rat bike of tomorrow. Those who still have a touch of rebellion, freedom and adventure should feel comfortable on the Scrambler. And that’s why you should cut short with discounts in the urban jungle. The Legend, on the other hand, is aimed at traditionalists who prefer to stow their luggage in leather bags instead of plastic boxes. The technical basis of the conversions can be any Moto Guzzi V7 built after 2008. Almost all components fit everywhere, only with the exhaust and the handlebars a distinction is made between models with and without ABS.

Dapper, Dark Rider, Legend and Scrambler
And how do they drive now, the quasi-unique items? As always, it depends. Namely, whether it is steered via stub or tube, whether the hard sporty or the comfortable classic seating furniture is installed, whether the swing arm is supported at the rear by the standard or the performance struts (724 euros), and ultimately whether the rubber by Pirelli (Dapper, Dark Rider) or Golden Tire (Legend, Scrambler).
At any rate, the four driven models revealed their own character when they drove into the hinterland of Lake Como, but they all have one thing in common: They have their American colleagues not only in terms of exclusivity, but also in matters that are not entirely unimportant for driving fun, such as freedom from leaning and handling quite a bit ahead, without being suspected of trying to fake Japanese functionality. Seen in this way, the Moto Guzzi V7 has the best prerequisites to be accepted in the scene of free spirits. Five-digit sales figures are neither expected nor feared for the time being.
