Moto Morini also wants to spread into the middle class. With the Seiemmezzo, the Italians give a first look at a possible scrambler model. The Seiemmezzo celebrates its premiere at the EICMA in Milan.

So far was M.oto Morini with its 1200 V2 models only starts in the upper class. The new Chinese owners of Moto Morini also want to compete in other classes. In order to create the basis for increasing sales figures, studies for possible middle-class models will be shown at the EICMA.

Row twin from China

One of them is the 6 1/2 – at Morini Seiemmezzo – which competes with a 650 in-line two-cylinder. The twin comes from China and is coupled with a six-speed gearbox and is also to be offered in an entry-level 48 hp variant. The Italians do not reveal what power the two-cylinder opener does. The Twin hangs in a tubular steel bridge frame that holds a fully adjustable USD 50 fork with 125 mm travel at the front. The aluminum rear swing arm is supported by a central spring strut adjustable in preload and rebound with a 120 mm travel. A 19-inch wire-spoke rim with a 110/80 tire rotates at the front, while a 150/70 tire is clamped onto a 17-inch rim at the rear. The tires clearly show tread.

At the front, the Italians built a double disc brake system with axially bolted calipers. The only control system is ABS. The seat height is specified as 825 mm. Visually, the Seiemmezzo follows the lines of the old Morini scrambler models. Compact at the front, airy at the back. The seat ends in a small rear light. The indicators and license plate holder are located on a swing arm. The pilot sits enthroned on the slightly stepped bench behind a high-cranked tubular handlebar, looks at a digital cockpit and the large LED round headlights, which are also installed in the new, large Scrambler. Atypical for a Scrambler, the exhaust ends in a short tailpipe stub on the side under the engine.
