Advanced skiers have more fun! Why is that? Quite simply: Experts ride with a better feeling in their stomachs because they know that they can react correctly at all times, because they know and have trained the course of action.

Let’s take the steering impulse as an example, this pressure on the handlebars which is so important when cornering. the steering impulse, this pressure at the end of the handlebar, which is so important when cornering: press left, drive left, press right, drive right. And consciously, usable in every situation in life. Some people have been riding motorcycles for years without actually being able to do so. And then experience that wonderful moment during motorcycle training when the penny drops and everything suddenly becomes so much easier because the steering impulse now gives them the feeling of significantly improved machine control.

If the consistent application of this driving technique can keep the motorcycle on course when braking in the bend, if everything works together so nicely, then the training has been more than worth it.

Where can you train?

One learns through trial and error. Read, implement, it works! Others by copying, others want to understand everything down to the last detail. With the numerous providers of motorcycle training for all skill levels, all types of learners will find what they are looking for.

Training dates that are constantly updated throughout Germany are available on the Internet platform of the Institute for Bicycle Safety (ifz) at www.ifz.de/training/motorradtraining. The offer ranges from four-hour curve training to one-day safety training according to the guidelines of the German Road Safety Council (DVR) to courses lasting several days, such as those offered by the MOTORRAD action team www.actionteam.de.

The DVD “Getting the curve right” is ideal for the winter break, but can also be found at www.ifz.de. The DVD “DRIVING A MOTORCYCLE – good and safe” makes driving and exercising a lot of fun, and not just in bad weather. The two-hour film is available for 9.90 euros (without a license; with a license: 19.90 euros) motorradonline.de/shop and ifz.de available.
