According to exact figures from the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA), 4,506,410 motorcycles are currently registered in Germany. Machines with seasonal license plates are also taken into account. It does not include motorcycles that have actually been deregistered over the winter or that live in the garage as a second or third bike that has not been registered. Almost 600,000 motorcycles (13.2%) are registered for women.

The total number of vehicles in Germany as of the reporting date was around 65.8 million. This was divided into 58.2 million motor vehicles (motor vehicles) – including around 47.4 million cars – and just under 7.7 million vehicle trailers.
