BMW BMW HP4: Super athletes for super price
BMW has closed its super athlete S 1000 RR and made lighter. She was not cheaper cheaper.
Top performance wants to be paid top. BMW demands at least 20 for its super athletes HP4.500 euros, with competition package 23.700 euro.
The HP4 is based on the S 1000 RR. It costs only 17 025 euros. The approximately 3500 Euro surcharge should justify HP4 even more sporty handling on the highway and with better lap times on the racetrack.
The first four-cylinder bike of the high-performance model series HP is powered by a 999 cubic mature cylinder engine with 142 kW / 193 hp. The maximum power unfolds at 13.000 tours, the maximum torque of 112 nm at 9.750 revolutions. The first serial motorcycle has the HP4 via an adaptive suspension. The Dynamic Damping Control named system continually adjusts electronically the attenuation of fork and strut to the road condition. Dry the Racer weighs only 169 kilograms.
For standard safety equipment, a Race ABS belongs that its work adapts to the environmental conditions. The driver can choose between rain, sports and race track mode. The latter brakes optimized for the use of slicks. Whoever wants it sharper, selects the IDM setting, which allows even greater delay. The abbreviation stands for the racing series of the international German motorcycle championship, in which BMW starts. On board also a Launch Control for a later start, switching assistant and a lightweight titanium exhaust system with controlled acoustic flap and interference tube. The Competition package includes a closed motor spoiler made of carbon, wheels in Racingblue metallic, foldable brake and clutch lever and an adjustable footrest system.
