With the New Box, living and storage space are cleverly nested into one another. At the very rear, the load space takes up the full vehicle height, the front part of the rear garage has a clear height of 140 cm. So you can stand comfortably at the back to work, change or hang up wet motorcycle suits to dry. A strong clothes rail is already available for this. There is still enough height in the front part of the garage for bulky equipment.

In this area there is also a 123 cm high passage to the living room. In order to reliably keep possible vapors from the engines or the tank away from the living area, the door, which is equipped with a lock, is provided with a circumferential sealing lip. The garage floor, which is completely covered with sturdy sheet aluminum, has four water drains. It is therefore well prepared for rough use. Optionally, you can also do without the bed above the garage and thus have even more storage space, but then only two beds are available in the alcove.

When loading, a 60 centimeter high loading sill has to be overcome. This is not a big hurdle with an access ramp available in the accessories trade (e.g. at www.zurrschienen.com). The 24 cm high step inside the garage, on the other hand, is a problem for fully faired motorcycles or low-lying cruisers. Such vehicles can touch down here, especially since they sink even further into the suspension when lashing. To solve the individual transport task, one or the other lashing eye will have to be retrofitted. A basic supply with mounting options is already available.

With full tanks, the New Box weighs 3140 kg. In order to be able to use the total of 7500 liters of garage volume, you should definitely order the New Box with the optional load increase to 3850 kg. Only in this way does the rear-wheel drive Ford Transit, powered by the 2.4-liter TDCi engine (115 hp), offer enough payload reserves for heavy transports. Then, however, the speed on German autobahns is limited to 100 km / h, and the truck overtaking ban applies to vehicles with a gross vehicle weight of more than 3500 kg.

In the living room, the sports fan is quite simple. The four beds are distributed over a rear bed above the garage and the bed in the alcove. Both lying surfaces have to do without slatted frames and without rear ventilation of the mattress. The simple sanitary room can be enlarged by swiveling a partition wall and offers a spacious shower cubicle. The cockpit seats are integrated into the seating area, so that four people can be accommodated both while driving and when they are living.

Other manufacturers also offer mobiles for motorcycle transport within the vehicle. But a full-fledged motorcycle has a considerable dead weight, to which the mass for the required accessories (loading ramp and lashing material) has to be added. Therefore, when making your selection, you should definitely pay attention to the payload of the rear garage. The storage space should be able to cope with around 250 kilograms. But only a few rear garages can withstand such a load, which severely limits the choice of possible motorcycle mobiles. The permitted load on the rear axle should also be checked carefully before buying. In most cases, very large and therefore often expensive vehicles offer the necessary garage payload. In addition, there are also smaller and cheaper offers in camper form. In these cases the motorized two-wheeler is more or less directly in the interior (caution: petrol fumes).
