Peugeot Pulsion 125 Allure in the driving report
First ride on the premium scooter
In the premium scooter segment, Peugeot also wants a piece of the cake and is sending a new competitor into the race with the Pulsion 125.
With its front it reminds Peugeot Pulsion 125 at first glance at the cars from the same company: sharply cut LED daytime running lights, flat design. The cockpit also looks like a shrunk version of a four-wheeled Lowen car. Another feature known from cars: Keyless Go. So the Pulsion can be started without fiddling with the keys. The easy-to-read TFT display scores with its beautiful design – unfortunately with too small a display. The scooter comes with the “I-Connect” infotainment system for a connection between smartphone and scooter. Calls and messages appear on the display via push notifications. The operation works without a question mark, but the display reacts to commands with a delay. For security reasons, a complete message can only be read while the vehicle is standing. The storage compartment under the bench seat offers space for an integral and a jet helmet, but there is no USB port. There is one in the glove compartment.
Motor delivers 14.4 hp
The comfortable chassis is immediately noticeable when driving. The Pulsion sails relaxed over bumps and, despite its quite heavy weight of 178 kg, tilts elegantly in an inclined position. Good for quick changes of direction. At high speed, the French rushes carefree across the street, while the sofa-like bench and the great wind protection, even for tall people, make long journeys a pleasure. With 14.4 PS the engine delivers a solid performance on paper, but in practice it performs rather slowly. The engine goes to work in a cultivated manner, but revs up slowly and loses speed on inclines, whereby the drive with 2.9 liters consumption is at least easy on the wallet.

When braking, the Pulsion does not show any nakedness. The front brake grips well and is comfortable to dose. The combination brake also automatically decelerates at the front when braking at the rear. In the event of emergency braking, the ABS controls noticeably but sensitively. The Pulsion 125 is available in the versions Active (4,549 euros) without the I-Connect feature, Allure (4,949 euros) with height-adjustable windshield and topcase support plate, and RS (4,949 euros) with uncovered handlebars, stainless steel running boards and a smaller, adjustable windshield.
Conclusion
The bottom line is that the Pulsion is a good companion for town and country. The engine is not a hot spur, but comfort, equipment and agility speak for the Peugeot.
