Recall Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR-R SP: Deflection lever can break
Recall Honda Fireblade CBR1000RR-R SP
Deflection lever can break
On some machines of the type CBR1000RR-R SP, Honda incorrectly mounted the retaining plates for the rear shock absorber. As a result, the lever can break. In Germany, 556 motorcycles are affected.

04/26/2021
Honda is recalling a small number of Fireblade CBR1000RR-R SP models to workshops in the United States and stopping further deliveries. During the assembly process, the retaining plates in the deflection for the rear shock absorber were obviously incorrectly mounted. Under certain circumstances, they can break and the rear of the vehicle can drop abruptly. In the worst case scenario, there will be an accident.
According to information from the American traffic safety authority, 89 machines from the construction period April 2020 to July 2020 will be checked in the USA. The chassis number range mentioned extends from JH2SC821 * MK000004 to JH2SC821 * MK000092. The holding plates on the machines could have been mounted the wrong way round, so that the intended counterbore on the bore is on the wrong side. All machines are checked, the components turned around or replaced with new parts if necessary.
Honda
Honda Germany confirms that machines in this country are also affected by this recall. A total of 556 motorcycles of the types CBR1000STL / SPL are checked.

How do you feel about recall?
Voted 2643 times
It’s annoying, but ultimately I benefit from it as a customer.
I feel insecure and I lose confidence in the technology / the manufacturer.
Conclusion
Honda has to check the rocker arm on the rear shock absorber on the new Fireblade in the SP version. The retaining plates could be incorrectly installed and break. A minor assembly mistake that could have a major impact.
