Carbon rims for Honda CBR 1000 RR-R Fireblade
Accessory specialist Tyssenkrupp is expanding its range of carbon rims to include wheels for the new Honda CBR 1000 RR-R Fireblade.

With immediate effect, the new Supersport flagship from Japanese manufacturer Honda – the CBR 1000 RR-R Fireblade – can also be equipped with high-quality, braided carbon rims from Thyssenkrupp Carbon Components.
Due to their lower weight and the resulting lower rotating masses, they are primarily intended to further improve handling. Thyssenkrupp mentions a weight saving of around 1.6 kilograms per wheel compared to conventional cast aluminum rims. Thyssenkrupp names a weight of 1.9 kilograms for the front wheel and 2.9 kilograms for the rear wheel.

The seamlessly processed carbon fibers in the rim base ensure maximum lightweight construction with the highest damage tolerance at the same time and are unique due to the use of patented production technologies. In addition, the braiding technique results in an extraordinary design. The new carbon rims are available for the Honda CBR 1000 RR-R Fireblade and CBR 1000 RR-R Fireblade SP. The wheelset in the sizes 3.5×17 and 6.0×17 inches costs around 3,411 euros including bearings and valves. The front and rear wheels can also be ordered individually. Then the prices are 1,656 and 1,949 euros respectively. A total of five motorcycle models can now be retrofitted with carbon wheels.
