Basically there is the new motorcycle-textile suit Rukka Shield-R made of a breathable, wind- and waterproof Gore-Tex 3-layer laminate on abrasion and tear-resistant Cordura.

Cordura + Aramid = Armacor

Cordura is actually nothing more than polyamide – also known as nylon. Cordura, however, has better abrasion values ​​than simple nylon, as the cut polyamide fibers are spun again and then woven. Armacor reinforcements are used on the jacket for additional protection. Armacor is a combination of Cordura and aramid fibers, i.e. Kevlar. This can be found on the elbows and shoulders of the Rukka jacket, and the knee and hip areas of the trousers.

Protectors on board

In terms of protection, the reinforced areas alone would not be sufficient, which is why level 2 protectors (highest protection class) are part of the equipment in the shoulders, elbows, knees / shins, hips and on the back, while level 1 full-breast protection is included in the chest area is to be found.

Lots of ventilation options

The jacket has 8 ventilation openings: 2 on the upper arms at the front, 2 with 2-way zip on the sides – from the armpits to the waistband, 2 additional ventilation openings run vertically on the chest and 2 vertically in the shoulders at the back.

The Shield-R pants come with a total of 4 ventilation openings – 2 on the front of the thighs, 2 on the back.

Adjustability and fit

The Shield-R jacket is equipped with stretch inserts on the side, in the upper back and in the crook of the arm, the width can be adjusted with press studs on the upper arm, a long zipper ensures the connection to the trousers and a crotch strap is also included in the scope of delivery.

The hip belt can be adjusted on the trousers, a snap fastener closes at the waist, the connection zip runs all around and the suspenders are removable. Stretch inserts are processed in the crotch area, the knee bend and above the knee and on the upper seat.

Bags and leather inserts

The jacket is equipped with a total of 4 pockets – all waterproof: 2 lower pockets with zippers, a large pocket on the lower back and an inside pocket in the chest area. The pants have 2 additional waterproof pockets. It also has heat and abrasion-resistant leather inserts on the inside of the knees and in the seat area.

Air cushions under the bum

The Shield-R jacket has a neoprene collar that can be hidden in a pocket when not in use and the sleeve ends have waterproof Gore-Tex inner cuffs.

The Shield-R pants, on the other hand, have a very special function: Rukka’s air-cushion system is designed to use a thin air cushion under the buttocks to reduce perspiration on the contact surface and thus optimize seating comfort.
