For the three-day English party, always at the end of June, the winter sports resort of Neukirchen, located between the Kitzbuhel Alps and the Hohe Tauern, regularly becomes the “Newchurch” that is pregnant with horsepower. In the first injection models (T 595, built in 1997/98), cracks in the seam between the engine housing halves were not uncommon. Therefore, be careful with copies of this series with mileage below 20,000 kilometers, as this defect could still be pending. Overall, there were some software updates for the injection electronics to improve the engine running. In particular, machines from 2001 onwards had to be adjusted in this regard frequently by professionals. However, if the service history is documented and all problems have been resolved in the specialist workshop, nothing stands in the way of driving enjoyment and a long service life. For long journeys, comfortable handlebars (e.g. touring stump Match from LSL, phone 02151/55590, www.lsl.eu, or superbike handlebar conversions from LSL or ABM, phone 07667 / 9446-0 www.ab-m. de) and are considered a bonus in price negotiations. Interesting for fans: the last Daytona 955i, built in 2006, already has the engine base of the more modern 1050 models (Sprint, Speed Triple) and their shorter and stiffer swingarm.
Market situation
The models with two-arm swing arm are a little difficult on the market, as the Daytona is chosen more for its appearance than for its technical advantages in the form of a few more horsepower or a few kilos less. This also explains why the “old” .T 595 models are still in great demand. are, because they outwardly differentiate themselves more strongly from the Japanese supersport competition than the modeled vintages from 2002 onwards. In low price regions around 3000 euros mainly private sellers offer – there may be one or the other rotten egg among them. The dealers obliged to guarantee, however, rarely have copies on offer that are more than ten years old, and usually charge between 3500 and 5500 euros for a properly maintained 955i. The big Daytona is difficult to sell secondhand at a higher price. Well-maintained checkbook machines from 2003 with only four-digit mileage are sometimes available for over 6000 euros at the dealer (trade-ins) – but as a grandfather clock.

The Triumph Daytona from 1997 was then still called the Daytona T 595, but because of injection it belongs to the new generation.
1997 Market launch of the Daytona T 595 with electronic injection. Price: 21490 marks (10988 euros).
1999 Addition to the model name “Daytona” now “955i”. Modifications: engine housing, idle air system, timing, chassis (harder tuning). Power: 128 instead of 125 hp. Price: 21,960 marks (11,228 euros).
2001 In the middle of the year Triumph presented the heavily revised 2002 model (type 595N). The engine is said to have 147 hp and the motorcycle weighs around ten kilograms less. Two-arm swing arm instead of one-arm swing arm, new fairing and headlights. Price: 12500 euros.
2002 Special series Centennial with single-sided swing arm, rear cover, carbon side panels, 190 instead of 180 rear tires for 12,777 euros.
2003 The normal series 595N receives all changes of the Centennial special model. Price: 13160 euros.
2006 Last model year. The engine base and swing arm are the same as on the new Triumph 1050 models. A Daytona 1050 has not been presented since then. Price: 11990 euros.
