Daimler shows electro-moped: first rollout of the smart scooter study
The environmentally friendly mobility in the big city is becoming increasingly important for the auto industry. Smart shows on the automotive salon Paris (2. – 17. October) The electrified two-wheeled study "E-Scooter".
With its interchangeable plastic coverings, the scooter shows its remote relatives with the smart "Fortwo" like the wearing chassis structure. The two-seat stromer is powered by a 4 kW / 5 hp DC hub motor directly in the rear wheel. In order to make teenagers on the two-wheeled smart "off", the maximum speed is limited to 45 km / h.
The lithium-ion battery pack enables a range of up to 100 kilometers with its capacity of 80 amperest hours (3.84 kWh). Even when braking, the batteries are loaded by the resulting braking energy. At home, the scooter should be refueled within three to five hours on the socket. The required charger for the 48 volt batteries is integrated in the "E-Scooter" and the power cable is plugged into the charging socket behind the hinged smart logo. Furthermore, an Apple iPhone can be connected and connected to the on-board electronics. The smartphone then perches in the handlebar and replaces all cockpit instruments. In addition, the immobilizer is disabled by connecting the iPhone. In the associated helmet, speakers and hands-free device are integrated, the mobile phone can be used during the journey and the listening of music is nothing in the way. In addition to the helmet, an airbag integrated in the handlebar ensure passive safety. The study is also equipped with a dead angle assistant supporting the scooter driver for lane change.
