Patent application 300 twin

Suzuki is obviously working on the entry into the sporty 300 class. A current patent application indicates a GSX-S 300, which should be presented in 2018.

D.he 300 class is particularly popular in Asia, but is also becoming increasingly important in Europe as an entry-level class. Suzuki has so far only been represented in this segment with the GSX-R 250 (has not yet made the leap to the German market), the Inazuma GW 250 (has already disappeared from the German market) and the V-Strom 250.

Two-cylinder with around 40 hp

According to new patent applications, the Suzuki offspring can have hope for new bikes in this class. At Haojue, Suzuki’s Chinese partner, the Haojue HJ300 is about to be launched. The accompanying pictures for the patent application do not require a lot of imagination to imagine a Suzuki GSX-S 300 underneath. The Haojue looks like a shrunk GSX-S 750.

It should be fired by a 300 cc twin with four-valve technology and a six-speed manual transmission. The performance? Around 40 hp should be there.

There is also a tubular steel bridge frame, an upside-down fork at the front and a central spring strut at the rear. The front-wheel-oriented sporty look is based heavily on that of the larger sister models. It is decelerated with a single disc at the front and a disc brake at the rear.

Premiere on Intermot or EICMA

The new 300 is not only coming as a sporty naked bike, there will also be a real athlete in the form of a GSX-R 300, as the corresponding patent application images show.

The larger sister models also set the standard for the fully faired super sports car. The technical basis corresponds to the GSX-S 300.

The two new 300 series Suzuki models should be presented at INTERMOT in October in Cologne (October 3rd to 7th) or at the beginning of November at EICMA in Milan (November 9th to 12th).
