With “Valentino Rossi – The Game”, the newest offshoot of the MotoGP video game series is now available from specialist retailers. As the title of the game suggests, the doctor plays a special role in this year’s version.

Fresh material for all fans of the MotoGP video game series: the Italian developer Milestone has launched “Valentino Rossi – The Game”, the latest offshoot of the MotoGP simulation. While the 2016 version of the game mechanics and driving physics does not differ that much from its predecessors, the basic principle of the racing game and the game modes have been upgraded.

For the latest offshoot of the MotoGP video game series, the developers brought Valentino Rossi, one of the greatest racing legends, on board. In addition to the game modes already known from its predecessors, “Valentino Rossi – The Game” contains some new game modes that deal specifically with the doctor. Players are inducted into Valentino Rossi’s Riders Academy at the start of the game.

Welcome to the # 46 Motor Ranch

After creating the new driver, for whom details such as appearance, equipment and start number are determined as usual, Valentino Rossi also invites the player to the VR46 Motor Ranch to complete the first flat-track race. Before the first race as a wildcard starter in Moto3 is on the calendar, other new disciplines can be tried out. 

For example, Valentino Rossi’s guest start can be re-enacted in the Monza rally show. Drift races with a Ford Mustang can also be completed. After the first three races as a wildcard starter, the first contract offers for Moto3 or Moto2 flutter into your email inbox. The career then proceeds according to the well-known scheme: started as a rookie, the player gradually fights his way up to the top of MotoGP. During the season there are further side competitions in the various disciplines as a change on the program.

The flat-track races are intended to provide variety in the latest MotoGP offshoot.

The character development has also been revised by Milestone. After the race, the player receives experience points in braking, rain ability, gas control, agility, cornering, body position and physical condition. The driving skills of the character increase accordingly in the course of the game.

As a further innovation, many of Valentino Rossi’s greatest career highlights can be re-enacted. Players are thrown into the crucial moments in the respective races. Before that, the Italian old master tells about the historical events in front of the camera. The little excursions to the doctor’s career highlights are sometimes a bit short, but they are definitely fun.

Many setting options, official licenses

Similar to its predecessors, many setup settings can also be made in “Valentino Rossi – The Game”. In addition, players can decide how easy or difficult it is to steer the virtual motorcycle. With various driving aids, newcomers can fight for the top spots relatively quickly. The motorcycle behaves completely differently without activated driving aids. Without the activated helpers, controlling the bikes is extremely sensitive and requires a lot of practice.

In addition to the 2016 license for MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3, Milestone also secured the 2015 license for MotoGP and Moto2 in “Valentino Rossi – The Game”. This allows the past season to be replayed. “Valentino Rossi – The Game” is now available for PS4, Xbox One and PC / Steam. In addition to the standard version, a Collectors Edition is also available, which includes a VR46 baseball cap, two signed A2 posters, a Valentino Rossi flag, game expansions and much more. The standard version is available from just under 50 euros; the Collector’s Edition is available from participating dealers for just under 120 euros.
