Example: EZ 2/2002, 43,700 km. Great garage motorcycle, accident-free and deliciously cared for. The dealer from North Rhine-Westphalia has already replaced the oil, spark plugs and brake fluid and gives a guarantee.

Yamaha XJR 1300
Tips for buying used
On the used market, the Yamaha XJR 1300 carburettor models (type RP10, up to 2006) are in particular demand.

The new motorcycle career of Yamaha XJR 1300 ended 2017. Since then, new motorcycles have had to meet the Euro4 standard, and the Yamaha XJR 1300 did not. Apparently, the manufacturer shied away from the homologation effort – although he had shown a slim Racer variant and a visually refreshed basic version of the Yamaha XJR 1300 at INTERMOT in 2014.

A Yamaha XJR 1300 Without electronic aids and technical highlights worth mentioning, it is still a very interesting motorcycle for many. She wasn’t even given ABS. Friends of this model could live well with the 98 hp, which is relatively modest by today’s standards, because the ultra-solid, large-capacity and beautifully finely ribbed engine with its pleasantly full torque appeals to belly people rather than technology enthusiasts.
On the used market, even the carburettor types are more present and in demand until 2006. Up until the changeover to injection with the RP19 type in 2007, the 1300 series had been sold almost 15,000 times, after that a total of only 2,750 times, which explains the higher second-hand supply.
But inventory figures alone do not explain the lower popularity of younger specimens on the used market. XJR fans are conservative, they like stereo struts, symmetrically mounted rear mufflers, and analog instruments. A nice paint job is important, the two-tone SP variants, for example, are well received. For an original Yamaha XJR 1300 from the first series you pay almost the same as for a 10 year newer one. As a used one, it is often well cared for and can therefore survive for a long time.
Market situation
The reliable four-cylinder naked bike was in the range for 17 years. Conceived in 1999 as an 80s retro bike – thanks to its own character, it is now an icon in itself.
Low price level
For less than 3,000 euros, mostly privately owned cross-country skiers with several previous owners and more than 50,000 kilometers on the clock as well as some replaced parts such as the exhaust system can be found. Good XJR in series condition are more like 4,000 euros.
Medium price level
Here, too, more private individuals than dealers offer the apparently easy-to-sell 1300s. The popular SP variant is offered for 5,000 euros, provided it is clean. Little-driven RP19s (less than 20,000 kilometers) can be bought for less than 5,000 euros.
Yamaha XJR 1300 from 6,000 euros
High price level
Due to modest new sales from 2010 onwards, second-hand offers of high-quality, rarely used XJRs of these vintages are correspondingly low and expensive. Used machines of the last series from 2015 are rare and seldom available for less than 7,500 euros.
