For 2019, the liquid-cooled single-cylinder four-valve engine became the Yamaha YZF-R125 has been completely redesigned to achieve even more torque and a wider, more uniform power range, while at the same time reducing fuel consumption. The top performance remains unchanged at 15 hp, but in the new cylinder head a variable valve control on the inlet side should ensure more torque over a wider speed range and more power at the top. The modified injection uses a larger throttle valve for a softer response, and the cooling system has been trimmed for more efficiency.
