At the sight of Italian motorcycle designs, many people start to slide nervously on their chairs as if by remote control. Especially when it comes to small, classy super athletes. Aprilias RS 660 as a real examplel. And the design by Arton Works with the two cladding variants too Triumphs Trident 660 as coming soon.

Project Neptune

Project Neptune is what the makers behind Arton Works call the project around the Trident cladding and refer to the trident. The cladding variants S and R are available as a plug&Play system developed. The kit should therefore be able to be mounted on the Triumph without any changes and be supplemented with handlebar stubs. A laminate made of carbon and fiberglass is to be used as the material.

3-in-1

Arton Works is planning two variants. An S version with a side panel that goes around the radiator and an R kit that covers the radiator. The half cladding of the Neptune S is the basis and can be supplemented with the parts of the R version. The R also comes with a seat cover. The modular system basically results in three versions of the Trident 660: naked, with half-shell or with full-shell.

Design choice online

A survey is currently running on the Arton Works homepage about other design variants, all of which are very desirable. Arton is still gentlemanly holding back on availability and claims that it is still in the project phase. So there is a Trident 660 ready to try on. When the first disguises are ready and what they will cost in the end is still open.

opinion poll

The new Triumph Trident 660 is …

… with 81 hp at a price of 7,343 euros exactly what I expected.

… cheap, but far too underperforming.

Conclusion

The first reflex is: “Please build!” The second: “Who should buy this?” Covering a motorcycle for 7,400 euros with a carbon panel is economically difficult to represent. Nonetheless, if something is boiling hot right now, it is fully faired mid-range bikes that not only look sporty, but are sporty too.
