It has been a long time since Bimota had been talked about. The small Italian manufacturer is pleased to announce for the Munich show a brand new machine: the DB5. A surprising, bestial motorcycle, almost a brute who would come to push his competitors with great blows of the shoulders. The design is daring, shocking, to ultimately exert a certain indescribable fascination. Decidedly, the Italians really know how to do it. Without being bad language, we can possibly distinguish a touch of GSX-R 1000 in the design of the optical unit as well as a strand of Benelli Tornado for fixing the mirrors. Whatever, the machine is impressive.
As often, the manufacturer uses a Ducati engine to propel this singular sports car. This is the twin 1000 DS which has recently been used in the Multistrada, Monster 1000 and SS. A modern yet authentic twin, can be a bit tight in pure power but full of charm and flavor. And in the frame of a 
Bimota, he can only express himself at best. The pots which evacuate its hoarse breath are 2 carbon silencers which greatly contribute to the visual identity of the rear end.
The frame of the Italian is a tubular trellis (like the swingarm, superb) connected to reinforced aluminum plates, all associated with Ohlins suspension elements. The fork is an inverted model, fitted as it should be with radially mounted brake calipers.
