Bimota DB8 ORONERO 2014

Menus

As is customary, the DB8 Oronero carries the prestige of the Bimota brand. There is no question of making sports accessible, efficient and inexpensive. Here, the level of exclusivity and requirement of the Italian sportswoman is raised a notch. Already tempting with its quality materials and the strength of its 170 horsepower Ducati twin, the DB8 sinks into indecent privilege in this carbon version..

Similar to the standard DB8, the Oronero version offers neat, expensive and ethereal technical solutions. The frame sums it all up: a set of cut aluminum frames connected to carbon fiber spars. Gorgeous. Same solutions for the swingarm. As for the fairing and the tank, they too are made of this strong and light fiber as desired. On this hypersport, everything is designed for the exception: either carbon, or machined parts, or sacred gear. What to stun the most on? On OZ forged aluminum rims, the Ohlins inverted fork, the full digital dashboard with integrated GPS, or quite simply its sculptural silhouette ?!?

Stitched in the Ducati 1198, the twin is here coached by a Walbro injection calibrated with Bimota sauce. These maximum values are established at 170 spitting horsepower at 9,750 rpm and 12.9 mkg at 8,000 rpm. More than this engine, it is the attention paid to the chassis that will transcend driving. With this manna of carbon and aluminum, the Bimota DB8 Oronero weighs only 159 kilos dry; or 5 kilos less than its predecessor, the DB7 Oronero. A formidable rigidity and its high-end peripherals take the owner to another dimension of sport. Only 8 machines will be produced this year, for an obviously stifling price.
