The F 800 S has barely been presented that it is already offered a Touring version: the ST. From a technical point of view, almost nothing has changed. The ST is, like the S, an aluminum perimeter frame model powered by BMW’s new inline-twin, equipped with belt drive and single-sided swingarm like the Scarver. Developing more than 80 horsepower for a dry weight of less than 190 kg, the F 800 ST is distinguished by its full fairing, its higher screen, and its aluminum case support. The raised handlebars make it possible to adopt a more sportivo-GT driving position, very much in the spirit of the machine. But to make it a real road, it will have to be offered the suitcases which are optional. ABS will be available, but it will also be an option. Thus equipped and equipped with a mill approaching 800 cm3, the ST will meet head-on with the only GT in this segment: the 700 Deauville. Honda vs BMW – NTV vs ST; the battle of mid-size tourism will change us from the war of hypersports.
