BMW K 1600 GT and GTL: six right

The white and blue propeller brand keeps surprising us: now with the six-cylinder duo K 1600 GT & K 1600 GTL. Behind the acronyms hide a cruise ship and a touring motorcycle with exorbitant performance reserves for relaxed driving pleasure. Predicate: calm power. The 1.6-liter engine delivers 160 hp and 175 Newton meters – with more than 70 percent of the maximum torque already at 1500 tours.
The engine weighs only around 100 kilograms, making it the lightest six-cylinder engine currently in production with a displacement of more than one liter. The engine is narrow and only eight centimeters wider than the 1.3-liter four-cylinder from BMW. In order not to increase in width, all ancillary units and the transmission are arranged behind the cylinder bank.

  1. Glad that the GSX-R 750 is mentioned again
(still the best usable for me – without electronic helper, Alla ABS / DTC / etc. – overall concept). Personally, I’m missing the 600r GSX-R renovated for 2011 (or the MV Augusta F3 announced for autumn – or the upgraded Triumph Daytona 675 "R") and most notably the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10 R. P.S. Farther "Good Trip"
