The smoothness of the engine and controls as well as the revised pilot position (allowing to better feel the driving) make this GT a machine suitable for evolving with a lot of pleasure and relaxation. The city, although it is not its hunting ground, does not reject the 1200 at all, but requires sustained concentration. Not to manage the twin, which has progressed well since the 1150 (it is more powerful and more flexible, like the transmission). You just have to be careful with the suitcases, very large, which limit the sneaking between the cars. If the retro plays “right”, the ass will not pass. Provide a good margin so as not to scratch or tear a bag. It would be a shame.

In dynamic handling, the 1,200 raises the bar even higher and makes it more efficient and fun as soon as the road turns. The new BMW R 1 200 RT even closer to the ideal? Certainly, she takes a step closer and really very close. The picture is not completely idyllic either.
