BMW G 650 GS 2011

Menus

On this occasion, we must admit that BMW has not broken its head too much to develop this new trail. Finally, develop…. Re-lifter especially. If we only stuck to the head of the fork, curvy at will, and this generally sympathetic aspect, the illusion of being in front of a new machine could well materialize for a while. But make no mistake: despite this new name and its stick rims, this trail is actually an ex-F 650 GS with a new top fairing and new colors. Motorization, chassis, saddle, tank under the saddle, luggage rack, double pot…. Everything is taken from the trail released in 2000. A good series of black paint, however, tries to hide everything that is metal.

Let’s not spit on him too much. Despite its typical BM price, the 650 GS single cylinder (the current F is a twin) has always been a fun and lively machine. Its versatility is a real asset, but its new wheels will surely limit its escapades off the road. Its new dashboard is frankly more attractive, its consumption is announced for 4.2 liters at 90 km / h and it can be equipped with ABS and heated grips as an option. The Bavarian manufacturer has not slammed a lot of money in R & D for this G 650 GS, the price remains affordable … for a BMW.
