76th Bol d’Or on April 14 and 15, 2012 at Magny-Cours

Presentation of the Bol d’Or 2012

The Nevers-Magny-Cours circuit will host the Bol d’Or 2012 on April 14 and 15, 2012, the opening round of the 2012 motorcycle endurance world championship in front of some 50,000 spectators expected.

This 76th edition will notably mark the return of the Bol d’Argent, a 3-hour endurance race reserved for amateurs on medium-displacement 2, 3 or 4-cylinder roadsters. Scheduled for Friday April 13 at the end of the day, it will host a maximum of 57 crews of two pilots.

The Magny-Cours circuit will also host at the same time a round of the international E-Power championship and the sidecar world championship, as well as the Swiss Ducati Challenge..

Motorcycles, girls and rock !

The Bol d’Or 2012 will be sponsored by Ludivine Puy, multiple enduro world champion and ambassador of the Mutuelle des Motards, partner of the event. Women will therefore be in the spotlight this year with in particular a 100% girls session during night runs, a female parade on the pit straight and a parade of female outfits organized by Dafy Moto..

But besides motorcycles and girls, a Bol d’Or wouldn’t be a real Bol d’Or without its third rock ‘n roll component, with this year the Stranglers in concert on Saturday evening! The day before, four rock groups selected by the Rock n’Bol blog will perform on the village stage.

Note also that biker spectators will also be able to participate in a run on the circuit on Friday evening, while some importers and manufacturers will offer their customers to ride on the Bol d’Or route as a prelude to the race..

Finally, a “Concentration” ticket is offered this year to motorcyclists who come by motorbike to the Bol d’Or: for 79 euros, “500 spectators will benefit from a calm and supervised camping area with dedicated toilets,” says the organizer. This ticket – which includes a sandwich, a soda, a coffee and the Bol d’Or 2012 medal – gives access to the paddock, a specific grandstand and a VIP pit lane tour on Saturday noon.
