Sunday – 4:30 p.m.. The SERT (Suzuki Endurance Racing Team) won the 75th edition of the Bol d’Or, contested this weekend on the Nevers Magny-Cours circuit (58). After 810 laps (out of 814!) Completed in the lead, Suzuki n ° 1 passed under the checkered flag with six revolutions ahead of Kawasaki SRC n ° 11 and eleven over BMW Motorrad n ° 99.
Author of the pole position and an exemplary race management, the team of Dominique Meliand spoke about the experience to win after 24 hours of total domination..
As fast as they are consistent, Vincent Philippe, Kenny Foray and Anthony Delhalle made no mistakes and maintained a high pace throughout the race. Congratulations to them, as well as to all SERT members who have ten victories over the last eleven Bol d’Or !
Brilliant second, the Kawasaki SRC team validates with the manner the first official release of the new ZX-10R 2011 which has also demonstrated a great reliability. The S 1000 RR of the BMW France 99 team completed the podium in front of the Kawa of the Bolliger Team and the CBR1000RR of the Honda TT Legends team: four different brands of motorcycles in the first five places !
Victim of a brake problem which probably cost them fifth position, National Motos finished sixth ahead of Ymes Folch Endurance and GMT 94.
Penalized by the unfortunate fall of Kenny Foray at the start of the race, Christophe Guyot’s structure stood out for its remarkable pugnacity during this Bol d’Or 2011. Not only did its mechanics achieve a real feat by "retyping" the R1 in two stages three movements, but Checa, Foray and Lagrive then impressed the whole paddock by realizing an incredible comeback thanks to cannon lap times !
Just behind, the Metiss JLC Moto team managed to hoist its GSX-R 1000 with its famous unconventional front axle to ninth place.
A technical and sporting feat for this very small structure (the only one entered in the Open) which ranks just ahead of the first Superstock: the Suzuki of the Motors Events AMT Assurances team..
35 teams out of 52 at the start crossed the finish line of this 75th edition of the Bol d’Or which marks the opening of the 2011 World Endurance Championship.
