Bol d’Or: Yamaha No.94 in GMT leads free practice

The Yamaha GMT94 team is the only one to have fallen below the 2-minute mark during the Bol d’Or free practice session on the Paul-Ricard circuit in Le Castellet (83). Christophe Guyot’s men beat Team SRC Kawasaki (2’00.048) and Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (2’00.183).

With a fastest lap of 1’59.633 on the handlebars of the R1 n ° 94 from free practice, Lucas Mahias loudly affirms the ambitions of the GMT: to garner as many points as possible from the first race in order to pocket one at the end of the 8 hours from Suzuka next July. Christophe Guyot, team manager of GMT94 : "The start of the session took place on a track which remained wet after the rain which fell on the circuit. The drivers waited half an hour to start directly on mixed tires on a drying track. In this configuration, quickly David Checa grabbed the fastest time. Niccolò Canepa also set off again on mixed tires to complete many laps, then Lucas Mahias switched to slick when the track became completely dry.
