A Buell is one hell of a bike like no other – and the XB-12 is a Buell like no other. It’s like a Best of menu from Mc DO, with different sizes and the choice of fries or potatoes.
There is the R, the S, then the Ss, the X Ulysses, and now the Scg; a real little family. The youngest will not surprise at first glance, and is distinguished from the sisters only by a more … stocky philosophy.

Engine, trim, options, power, weight, nothing changes compared to the standard S. Question chassis, there, we begin to ask questions. Seat height lowered from 765 to 726 mm (- 39), ground clearance reduced by 20 mm, inverted fork a little less thick, and suspension travel in free fall: – 46 mm at the front, – 39 mm at the back.
Consequences: more confidence for the pilot at low speeds, a lowered center of gravity, a machine more accessible to medium sizes, and an aspect of little scoundrel ready to give big kicks and jaws in the asphalt. Afterwards, it’s the spicy temperament of the reworked H-D engine that takes care of triggering the mess.
