Open letter from Eric de Seynes, CEO of Yamaha Motor France
Dear All,
Funeral Thursday January 17 in Versailles
The funeral of Jean-Claude Olivier will take place this Thursday, January 17, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the Saint-Louis Cathedral of Versailles, 4 place Saint-Louis 78000 Versailles.
"Many of you sent us your condolences and your expressions of support. We were very sensitive and we will not fail to send them all to his wife," said Yamaha Motor France.
As you may have learned from the media since last night, I would like to share with you a terrible news with the accidental death of Jean-Claude Olivier at the end of the morning yesterday.
We are all shocked, touched, devastated, but our first thoughts are obviously with his wife, his children, as well as his grandchildren and all his family.
Today we are losing someone very dear, who was for each of us an exemplary boss, but also for some a guide, a friend, a professional father..
His vision, his passion, his high standards and his talent as a business leader have enabled him, with all of us at his side, to carry out great things, great achievements, great developments. He was the man of a work of life. He built, he built, he developed, he totally invested himself with exceptional requirements and involvement for the Yamaha brand, for the company Yamaha Motor France and all its employees, for the network of Yamaha dealers, for the market and the image of the motorcycle as a whole.
But Jean-Claude Olivier was a pure competitor. His involvement in the race, his ability to have been able to support and develop the talents of the greatest French champions that the bike has been lucky to have over the past decades were unique. Jean Aureal, Patrick Pons, Christian Sarron, Jean-Philippe Ruggia, Jacky Vimond, Stephane Peterhansel, Olivier Jacque, Jean-Marc Deletang, Yves Demaria, Arnaud Demeester … the list is obviously too long to quote them all but they will recognize each other all, because they know in their deep intimacy what Jean-Claude Olivier has brought them, what they have been able to share so strongly with him, in this formidable and demanding commitment to racing at the highest level.
Jean-Claude Olivier has been able to accomplish his professional life, obtain all these successes without ever falling for the easy. He often said "one cannot be proud of what one achieves oneself. It is at the time of his disappearance that others will judge the strength and the scope of what one has achieved in his life. life" . Now he can be proud of all he has done, of all he has given, of all he has been able to share.
Today, we are all collectively and individually indebted to him for who we are, for our personal professional situation, and for the chance we have to be able to work and give ourselves for this great brand, for this a strong company that is Yamaha Motor France.
The disappearance of Jean-Claude Olivier is therefore extremely painful and it affects us all in the depths of our being. But now we have to give back what he gave us with so much commitment. We must know how to continue the road he has been able to trace for so many years and be worthy of the confidence he has shown in us by continuing to lead Yamaha with strength, conviction and commitment..
You can count on me to do it with you, for Yamaha, for the motorcycle, for our customers, for our common passion.
Eric de SEYNES
Chairman and CEO
