Cross between MTB and Enduro

Somewhere between a mountain bike and a cross machine, the Bykstar electric motorcycle comes in different versions.

D.he electric motorcycle Bykstar should be as agile and light as a bicycle, yet powerful and fast like a full-fledged motorcycle.

Range and performance

For the range in the city the manufacturer specifies up to 85 kilometers, for off-road use the 2.65 kWh battery should deliver juice for two hours, in normal operation it should be 2.5 hours. Thanks to the quick charge function, the replaceable battery should be charged in 60 minutes. The electric drive with a maximum output of twelve kW and a power-to-weight ratio of 3.92 kg / kW could accelerate the Bykstar to 100 km / h, but has been throttled to 70 km / h for safety reasons.

Chassis and frame

The downhill race suspension fork provides 200 mm of travel at the front, while the freeride and downhill suspension at the rear provides 220 mm of travel. The front wheel rim is 26 inches, the rear wheel rim is 24 inches. The front is decelerated by a hydraulic disc brake with a 203 mm disc.

The aluminum frame is made in a platform construction without welding seams. The steering head angle is 65 degrees. The Bykstar electric motorcycle weighs a total of 47 kilograms, of which 13 kilograms are due to the battery.

Bykstar in 4 versions

Depending on the requirements and area of application, interested parties should have the choice between four versions of the Bykstar: An off-road version with coarse-tread enduro tires and more suspension travel will be the first to hit the market. In the case of an individually configurable custom version with an anodized frame, driving modes and engine or battery power can be ordered as required. The Bykstar Urban should be street legal and correspond to vehicle class L1E, i.e. throttled to 45 km / h. A transport version of this is intended for couriers and delivery services as well as for private individuals who would like to do without a car for transport in the future.

Development and market launch

The product is probably almost fully developed, but the young company is still at the very beginning, which is why there is no specific date for the market launch. Exact prices for the different variants have not yet been determined, but what is certain is that it will start at around 6,999 euros.
