The second MotoE electric motorcycle world cup will start on May 3, 2020 on the sidelines of the Spanish GP and will end on September 13, 2020 during the San Marino GP, according to the provisional calendar published by the International Motorcycling Federation ( FIM). 

The Electric Motorcycles World Cup currently has six races, like this year, but with an additional destination: the second season of this championship, played on Energica Ego – with Michelin pavements – will be spread over five circuits against four in 2019.

The six events will always be contested on the sidelines of certain traditional Europeans with tests, "e-qualifications" and one – or even two – race (s) between the Moto3, Moto2 and MotoGP sessions. The MotoE races take place this season on Sunday morning, between the MotoGP warm-up and the Moto3 Grand Prix.

MotoE 2020 will kick off on May 3, 2020 during the Spanish GP in Jerez, then head to the Le Mans circuit on May 17 during the French GP. The third race will take place on June 21 on the sidelines of the German GP at the Sachsenring and the fourth on August 16 in Austria.

The electric motorcycles will cut the ignition in mid-September, after the two MotoE races scheduled during the 2020 San Marino GP in Misano. This final Italian event will be the only one – to date – to have two rounds.

"Sete" better retirement !

Note that this second season of MotoE should be disputed without Sete Gibernau, who came out of retirement last winter at 46 to take up the challenge of these electric races in the Join Contract Pons team. Ex-MotoGP rider reportedly not considering extending one-year contract to spend more time with family…

The n ° 15 is 10th in the 2019 MotoE provisional ranking, currently led by the Italian Matteo Ferrari. Three French drivers are also "connected" to this category in 2019: Mike di Meglio (4th), Randy de Puniet (17th) and Kenny Foray (18th and last).
