Rolf Reick converts the BMW C evolution

Electric drive. And then also a scooter. Customizer Rolf Reick dares something. At Glemseck 101, the signature bike competes on the 1/8 mile in the rigid frame sprint.

Kone before him has so far converted an electric scooter in the custom scene. “For good reason,” some will say. And still not able to look away – or not even want to. Because the converted BMW C evolution presents itself confidently, does not even try to hide its drive, but really puts it on display. "I received extra training, but I still didn’t answer the electrics," says Rolf Reick, a trained industrial designer and head of a school for product design and multimedia.

Instead, he has devoted himself extensively to the optics: The C evolution now rolls forward without its original fairing – lowered, rigid, without shock absorbers, but with LSL clip-ons and a slick on the rear rim. The front is covered with a handmade plastic shell that is 40 kilograms lighter than the original, can be removed in a few simple steps and is strongly reminiscent of a stealth bomber such as the F-117 Nighthawk. "This is a real Reick-Roller coarse, raw and unplaned", says the customizer. Incidentally, the name giver for the e-scooter conversion E-LisaBad is his grandmother.

After the custom BMW C evolution made its premiere on the Pure&Crafted Festival, it’s on to Glemseck 101. Here Rolf Reick will take part in the rigid-frame sprint “StarrWars” he initiated himself: “What fascinates me about the C evolution is the acceleration through direct power transmission.” This is how the scooter will look in all likelihood not only present as coarse, raw and unplaned, but, so Reick’s hope, also as "extremely fast".
