Edwin Straver, three Dakar to his name, is "between life and death" and suffers from a fracture in the "upper part of the spine", specifies his family.

This 48-year-old Dutch rider distinguished himself by winning last year in the Original by Motul category, formerly called "motorcycle trunks". Asked about the holding of the Dakar in Saudi Arabia, Edwin Straver said he was delighted to change to "change the playing field" while the old course in South America ended according to him in circles: "last year, a lot of stages took again already known tracks.
