CCM Spitfire Bobber

Single cylinder also for Europe

The British motorcycle manufacturer CCM is now also offering its Spitfire single-cylinder as a bobber version. And: the bikes should also come to mainland Europe in the future.

M.ith the Spitfire series, CCM has launched a real successful model. After the versions FT6 in Flattracker style, the Spitfire Scrambler and the Spitfire Racer, the British are pushing the Spitfire Bobber. So far, however, there are only the first design drawings, but they already reveal some details. The Bobber takes over the technical basis of its sister models, but still has a completely different character.

With new attachments to the bobber

The frame and swing arm made of tubular steel, the fully adjustable WP upside-down fork, an also fully adjustable WP shock absorber and the tank are taken over from the sister models. The well-known 600 cm³ four-stroke single from Husqvarna with 55 hp and 58 Nm will also be used again.

CCM

Basic version of the CCM Spitfire.

The CCM generates the new bobber character via the deeply drawn exhaust system, which ends in its own silencer on the left and right, a wide handlebar and a single seat. The bobber look is perfected by wire-spoke wheels on which fat whitewall tires are mounted.

The CCM Spitfire Bobber, like its sister models, is said to be only 150 copies. With this limitation, CCM remains in the status of a small series manufacturer and was thus able to take advantage of simplified licensing provisions. But that should change in the future.

Export also to the rest of Europe from 2020

So far, CCM bikes have only been available in Great Britain, since the British found it too time-consuming to adapt to the Euro4 standard, which differs greatly from the British homologation regulations, compared to the expected sales success. However, since the demand for CCM bikes from abroad has increased steadily, the British have now decided to homologate their motorcycles for the rest of Europe as well. But there is still another hurdle to overcome. CCM still has to set up a corresponding sales and service network. The website also has to be set up internationally. Nevertheless, CCM is certain that all Spitfire bikes will be sold out before the European market launch in 2020.
