A motorcycle without shift lever? This can only be a comfort-concrete scooter. No, says Honda, that’s also sporty – as in BMWS M3 or Porsches 911. Site has tried it.

Motorcycles that – like a scooter – remove the driver’s switching, are not commonly considered athletic. Some then think of the good-natured CB 400 Hondamatic from the 70s, the current Yamaha FJR 1300 with semi-automatic also applies rather than choice for the big tour because for the curvature.
Honda’s new VFR 1200 DCT avoids the word "automatic" – and speaks of an "automated manual transmission". And that’s what it is: DCT stands for "Double Clutch Transmission" – in fact this innovation is the first dual-clutch transmission in a motorcycle. For automakers such as Porsche and BMW stands for dynamic switching (let). A test with the new Honda proves that the Honda is well superior to its manually switched counterpart.

  1. too dangerous
And what if the switchgautomat is spinning or interconnected? A single-track vehicle with … the performance period no drive or drive. Shift. At the car I have already experienced automatic shift errors, that’s just unpleasant, the motorcycle would be too dangerous to me.

  2. In America
where it is predominantly straight out, that may still make sense. The inclined European will leave this bike probably left, driving pleasure is different.

  3. That’s the unique thing about electrobics
speaks (in my view – at the car I find it ok – traffic jam / etc.). But the switching belongs to motorcycling.

  4. For 16200 euros
I get a nice motorcycle with circuit and if I still want a scooter.

  5. for me…
Just turn off a big fun of the motorcycling and does not want to miss it. An automatic motorcycle is not in question for me anyway.

  6. Motorcycling
Power the motorcycle with electric starter instead of kickstarter, no longer feel the wind because of the paneling and full exercise helmet, do not pull a clutch handle, do not operate any shift levers and soon drive without sound thanks to electric motors… No thanks – I prefer to stay with mine "Antique car" with which you can experience all this.
