Driving report MV Agusta F4 100 CC

Ninety-nine and one

There should be only a hundred of his F4 100 CC. One for himself and 99 for friends, says MV boss Claudio Castiglioni. One of the friends brought the most powerful and most expensive production motorcycle in the world to Hockenheim. Exclusively for MOTORRAD.

M.honest is not possible. Neither more exclusivity nor more performance or even a higher purchase price. 100 pieces, according to MV 200 hp, 100,000 euros expensive. The only F4 CC sold in Germany is in the Hockenheim paddock. Black as a double espresso. The spring sun flows gently over its contours, getting caught in the silky shimmering structure of the carbon fabric that covers the F4 CC from the tip of the nose to the tail.

She leans on her side stand with a crackle, sleepily. It came by axis. Light palpitation, hands slightly damp. “Oh, don’t worry. In winter she owns a place in the living room, “explains her owner,” but otherwise she should be fun. While driving. «The CC owner ?? neither oil sheik nor VIP party-tempered celebrity and still prefer incognito ?? sees the matter in a sporty way: not a guy who puts something like that as a shrine in the garage. How nice.

Say

Presentation of the noble MV at the fair in Milan 2006.

The pressure on the starter brings the radially arranged titanium valves from Del West ?? well-known Formula 1 supplier ?? over the up and down gymnastics piston to dance. Mahle piston, lighter, graphite-coated of course. They are connected to the crankshaft via titanium connecting rods.

There is hardly anything ordinary about this motorcycle. Not the magnesium parts like swingarm, frame plates and all engine covers. Not the excessive use of carbon and titanium ?? even the radiator grille with the MV logo is made of the noble material. And certainly not the Brembo Racing Monobloc pliers or the lavish abundance of milled parts such as the huge fork feet or the folding hand levers. That must drive every controller crazy. And yet the MV does not show off its flashy war paint, it exercises elegant restraint on the outside.

So just don’t think that too much cockiness could turn this piece of jewelry, 90 percent of which is supposed to be custom-made, into an unsightly pile of junk. Stay relaxed, after all, the owner would still remember the expensive Girard Perregaux watch and the Trussardi leather jacket with the F4 emblem, dowry of every CC.

First course and off. The royal rolls. Even behaves like a good middle-class motorcycle. Completely inconspicuous. This makes it easier for you to concentrate on the essentials. Drive. What she’s really good at. Extremely handy and direct. The inhibition threshold sinks. Because the engine, increased to 1078 cm3 with a larger bore and, like the Tamburini, equipped with variable intake pipes, plays along very well. And so wonderfully lascivious from the open full titanium system with the angled outer tubes ?? together with the appropriate control unit also included in the package ?? babbles.

The four-cylinder pulls cleanly from the cellar. Even, full. Not smooth and ironed flat. The CC takes the liberty of adding a well-dosed amount of vibrations to its growling, rasping expressions of life. The noise and intensity change depending on the speed. The pilot holds the baton in his right hand. Which ends with hurling the CC into the home straight with the front wheel slightly raised. My goodness, that tugs, roars, squeezes, so that the hair on the back of your neck stands up. Measured 189 PS are raging here. This makes the CC the most expensive and strongest »production motorcycle« in the world.

But don’t worry. The brembos will fix it when you brake. That this gem misses the targeted 200 hp is a gift. Likewise, the fact that the crème of the bar goods doesn’t fare much worse. But that’s not really the point. Because the whole thing cannot be dealt with with ratio. More with feeling. A few laps on the CC clearly show that: It’s about feeling the cool thing about driving yourself. To feel a little passion, to enjoy the moment. As intense as possible.
