Ducati Scrambler Special Edition Mike Hailwood

Limited to 58 pieces

Nice but expensive idea from Thailand: The Ducati Scrambler Special Edition Mike Hailwood costs 17,700 euros and is limited to 58 pieces.

Mike “the Bike” Hailwood died 35 years ago in a car accident near Birmingham, along with his daughter Michelle. His son David survived. The racing driver was only 40 years old. But he remains in the collective memory of the Ducati community – not least because of his spectacular victory at the Tourist Trophy in 1978 in the saddle of a 900 SS. This motorcycle is now the inspiration for a special edition of the D.ucati scrambler 800.

It was launched by the Thai Ducati importer and significantly refined the base. That ranges from the lamp cover in the style of the 70s to a Termignoni exhaust and an Ohlins shock absorber to Pirelli Angel GT tires.

Paintwork in the style of the Hailwood bike from 1978

In addition to these technical modifications, which should have a positive effect on the driving behavior (although it remained with the somewhat rumpled telescopic fork from Kayaba), there is also the right look: red-green-white paintwork in the style of the Hailwood bike from 1978, special mono seat , gold-painted light alloy wheels, lower and more curved handlebars, black aluminum mirrors and superbike throttle.

The idea came about after the boss of Ducati Thailand met Hailwood’s widow Pauline. The mini series is limited to 58 pieces and is only sold in Thailand. The proud price is 699,000 Bath, which is the equivalent of a good 17,700 euros. Further information on the Ducati Scrambler Special Edition Mike Hailwood is available on the website www.scramblerhailwood.com.
