Drag races over the quarter mile are a popular sport in the USA – on four and two wheels. Especially for motorcycles that compete on the drag strip Dunlop now developed the new Dunlop Dragmax. The Dragmax was built for use in the Pro Street and Pro Stock classes. This means that the Dragmax should be good for runs in the six-second range and for speeds of up to 320 km / h. It also has a DOT number and is therefore suitable for the road.

The Dunlop Dragmax relies on an extremely adhesive rubber compound that should even surpass real racing slicks. In addition, Dunlop combines extremely stiff flanks. The Dragmax should be suitable for extremely low filling pressures, such as those used in drag racing. The stable carcass should resist the centrifugal forces and keep the tire in shape. When it comes to the profile, the Dragmax is very reserved so that as much rubber as possible sticks to the asphalt. The Dunlop Dragmax is only available in sizes 190/50 – 17. It is manufactured in the USA. There it is available for prices starting at $ 270. Buyers can expect a lot of grip, but not long mileage.
