+++ Update from 8. March 2017: Price and market launch known +++ Just a few days after INTERMOT in Cologne, BMW launched its next innovation with the K 1600 B – in Los Angeles, California, where the excavator also fits better.
F.laugh and long. The BMW K 1600 Bagger is, to put it bluntly, the American version of the 1600 six-cylinder models from Munich. It was consequent to present the sled there as well. It is doubtful whether so many BMW drivers in Germany are warming to its not exactly traditional look: Like a 1960s road cruiser, the silhouette falls backwards behind the capped windshield. The rear frame was specially modified for the flat end.
Reversing assistance for a surcharge
The teardrop-shaped cases that integrate the curved rear lights are permanently installed on the BMW K 1600 B. Apart from this, and apart from the new 17-inch forged wheels, the 160 hp K 1600 B is technically identical to the new K 1600 GT and, like this one, has the “Dynamic ESA” electronic chassis as standard. It can also be set to the “Cruise” mode, thus offering, typically American sledges, “a particularly pronounced feeling of comfort at low speeds.” A reversing aid is available for an extra charge. With it, the load can be easily rolled out of the parking space using the power of the starter – at 336 kilograms not wrong at all.
Price and market launch of the BMW K 1600 B
The BMW K 1600 B will cost 21,900 euros and the market launch is planned for September 2017.
