Sweatpants completely reinforced with Kevlar

There is nothing that is not there. Jogging pants for motorcyclists are not an April Fool’s joke, but are serious and reinforced with Kevlar.

Nothing protects our skin better than leather. Nothing has changed for us motorcyclists. But if we want to use textiles, we now have a large selection that goes beyond the classic textile touring suit: from jeans to leggings to sweatpants, there are reinforced and certified parts that protect us better in the event of a fall than non-reinforced ones textiles.

The fact that the choice falls on motorcycle sweatpants in Corona times could be due to the current home office culture and the one or the other kilo that some people have been carrying around with them since the first Corona lockdown. The question seems completely justified: Do the motorcycle clothes still fit? And: do I really want to know? Then rather slip into these sweatpants for a sandwich, which convey on the pictures that there is nowhere to pinch, even if she wanted to.

Completely reinforced with Kevlar

The Fastway Men 191 from the Louis range is completely reinforced with Kevlar, which in this case consists of 60 percent aramid fibers and 40 percent polyester. The sweatpants should still feel like real sweatpants, because in addition to the Kevlar reinforcement, they are made of a jersey fleece made of 52 percent polyester and 48 percent cotton. The width of the waistband can be adjusted with a cord and elastic band, the two side pockets can be closed with a zip.

No protector pockets

The motorcycle sweatpants are equipped with safety seams in accordance with ISO 4916 in the area of the fall positions. Unfortunately there are no protector pockets – neither in the area of the hips nor in the area of the knees. How much that would bring with the casual, loose fit of the pants is also questionable. The biker jogging pants are available from Louis in men’s sizes 48 to 58 at a price of 99.99 euros. A matching Hoddie, also reinforced with Kevlar and even equipped with protectors, costs 149.99 euros.

Alternative with a little more protection

An alternative is the Booster Sweat Tech motorcycle sweatpants, which follow a slightly different concept: They come with protectors on the knees and have a slightly more figure-hugging cut. In the hip area, however, it does not offer any option to retrofit protectors. In addition, it is only reinforced with Kevlar in certain positions, namely in the area of the knees, hips and back. It costs around 100 euros.

Conclusion

Combined with a sweat jacket like the Highway 1 (see pictures), which is also completely reinforced with Kevlar, the outfit, which can bring current realities of life such as home office, winter and corona pounds and the trip to the supermarket under one roof, looks like no other other motorcycle clothing.
