Royal Enfield Himalayan in Dakar style

The clothing manufacturer Fuel Motorcycles has put an extremely delicious custom bike called the “Royal Rally 400” based on the Royal Enfield Himalayan in Dakar style.

The main focus of the Barcelona-based company Fuel Motorcycles is actually on the production of motorcycle clothing. The fact that the Spaniards are also talented in other areas is shown by the custom bike based on the Royal Enfield Himalayan. The so-called Fuel Custom Builts "Royal Rally 400" is based on the Himalayan of the 2018 model year. The custom bike is powered by the well-known 411 cm³ four-cylinder engine with an output of 24.5 hp. Incidentally, Fuel Motorcycles didn’t just put the custom bike on its wheels out of boredom. The Royal Rally 400 is to start at the so-called Scram Africa 2019, which is an adventure rally across Morocco also organized by Fuel Motorcycles. Not surprisingly, old Paris-Dakar routes are also followed on the tour.

Sufficient power for the adventure tour

According to their own statements, the customers opted for the Royal Enfield Himalayan because of the simple but functional concept. Fuel Motorcycles recognized a similar potential as with the first bikes used at the Paris Dakar and the company founded in Barcelona in 2012 was reminded of the Yamaha XT 500 or Honda XL. Accordingly, it was decided to give the Himalayan a more compact, more aggressive and more classic presentation. The motorization also meets the requirements of the planned tour on the not always paved roads of Morocco.

Fuel Motorcycles

The Royal Rally 400 from Fuel Motorcycles is expected to remain a one-off. A pity!

First of all, the front headlight was replaced and exchanged for a classic enduro mask including a new fender. The seat, which was originally suitable for pillion riders, was swapped for a one-man version. In addition, all protective grids around the tank have been removed, making the bike look much tidier and simpler. Mounts for a small bag were attached to the stern. One of the previously removed protective grids has also been converted and now serves as a holder for a side pocket. The Spanish manufacturer used the Suzuki RMZ 450 for the exhaust.

ABS can now be switched off

Since Scram Africa 2019 is mostly open terrain, the Customer Fuel Motorcycles have provided an ABS that can be switched off. The ABS can be switched on and off conveniently and easily using a switch on the handlebar. In addition, the fuel consumption could be reduced by clever tuning and an electronic control unit from Powertronic and the engine performance could be improved somewhat at the same time. Hand protectors were also attached to the handlebars. A USB port and a new speedometer are also on board. The Pirelli MT 21 Rallycross was chosen for the tires. Incidentally, Fuel Motorcycles did not mention how much the conversion cost. It can also be assumed that the Royal Rally 400 will remain a one-off. It’s a shame actually!
