The scooter is quite expansive. The floating bodies and the jet propulsion sit under the bulging side panels.

Motor scooters for land and water

The British amphibious vehicle specialist Gibbs has developed the Biski, a scooter that can drive on land and on water.

M.Scooters are usually very practical two-wheeled companions. The British amphibian specialist Gibbs Amphibians is adding another aspect to their utility, because the Gibbs Biski can also drive on water. Designed as an amphibious vehicle, the conversion from road to water vehicle should be possible in just 5 seconds. Biski pays for his ability to walk across the water with an extremely chubby body dress that makes him look like a clumsy duck when going ashore.

2.35 meters long and 0.95 meters wide

The dimensions alone are impressive. The Gibbs Biski is 2.35 meters long and 0.95 meters wide. The wheelbase is specified at 1.79 meters, the ground clearance at 150 mm. The floating bodies and the outlets of the jet drive are hidden under the projecting side parts.

Drive power is provided by a 55 hp two-cylinder petrol engine that drives the rear wheel when driving on the road. The jet drive is fired in the water. If the Gibbs Biski has asphalt under the frame, it rolls on a 16-inch front wheel with 120/70 tires. At the back there is a 150/80 tire that sits on a 15-inch rim. Disc brakes on both wheels are used to decelerate. If it goes into the water, both wheels are retracted a little and the drive switched over. The water features can begin after less than 5 seconds.

At 60 km / h over the water

On land the Biski runs up to 130 km / h, in the water it is 60 km / h.

On land, still almost 130 km / h fast, the 228 kilogram Biski rushes in the water at up to 60 km / h. The maximum permissible weight for the single-seater is 348 kg.

The Gibbs Biski is surprisingly small for an amphibious vehicle, but extremely large for a scooter. But if you have a boat in addition to your scooter, you could combine both with the Biski. At what price? Gibbs does not provide any information on this.
