"After the incident during the Austrian MotoGP GP involving Johann Zarco and Franco Morbidelli which resulted in a red flag, the FIM MotoGP Stewards heard from the two riders yesterday," said the Federation Internationale de Mocyclisme (FIM).
"Evidence of irresponsible conduct"
"It appeared that there was evidence of irresponsible conduct on the part of Johann Zarco calling for a penalty", estimate this morning the commission by deciding that "the French driver will start the next Grand Prix (this Sunday in Austria, Editor’s note) from the pit lane ".
Slightly injured in – and undoubtedly even more marked morally by the -, Johann will already have to miss the first free practice sessions due to his recent operation on his fracture on his right wrist. Hopefully, even from the pit lane, Johann will take the start of the Styrian GP, this second race in a row on the Austrian circuit….
For his part, Danilo Petrucci received a "written warning" following his spat with Aleix Espargaro during qualifying practice for the Austrian GP while a non-place was pronounced for the fall involving Miguel Oliveira and Pol Espargaro in the race.
